REFLECTION OF OMAN

Trip Information

Day 1: SUNDAY: MUSCAT

Arrival and transfer to the hotel. The rooms will be delivered after 2.00 pm. Possibility of immediate assignment before 2.00 pm with supplement. Overnight stay.

Day 2: MONDAY: MUSCAT

Breakfast and departure for a visit to the city: the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, modern and elegant, with the splendid Persian carpet and the incredible chandelier. Continue along the Shatti al Qurum seafront to the Opera. Stop for the external visit (if possible you can visit the inside of the Opera House. Entrance to be paid on site). Lunch. In the afternoon departure for the Bait Al Zubair Ethnological Museum whose visit will allow you not only to observe a precious collection of Swords (Al Saif), Daggers (Kanjar), various weapons and ceramics, but also to understand the customs and traditions of Oman. Then visit the Sultan’s Palace (external), the two Portuguese forts (external), Mirani and Jalali and the Muttrah souq, the largest in Oman with its myriad of narrow streets and shops. Return to the hotel, free dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: TUESDAY: MUSCAT / SNAKE GORGE / BILAD SAYT / CROSS WEST HAJAR / JABAL SHAMS

Breakfast and departure by 4×4 off-road vehicle towards Nakhal. We will continue inland through the beautiful Wadi bani Awf, a wadi that winds between dizzying rocky walls. Arrival at the Sarpente Gorge, so named for its typical shape. Continuation and photo stop at the mountain village of Bilad Sayt with the typical geometric cultivations. We will climb further up to an altitude of 2000 metres. along a fascinating off-road mountain itinerary admiring breathtaking views. We descend back to Al Hamra with a photo stop at the immense palm grove and for lunch in a local restaurant. Continuation and arrival in JABAL SHAMS. Visit grand canyon 3009 meters accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: WEDNESDAY: JABAL SHAMS / WADI AL AYN / JABRIN / BAHLA / NIZWA

Breakfast and departure towards sint to reach Wadi Al Ayn, to visit the funerary complex of tombs which, together with Bat and the Al Khutm tower, is one of the 5 sites in Oman registered in the UNESCO list since 1988. Wadi al Ayn is the most suggestive due to its position and the scenery of the Jabal Misth which frames it. The tombs date back to the Hafit period (around 3000 BC), which is the early Bronze Age period in Oman. Departure for Jabrin where we will visit the famous Castle considered the most refined in Oman and dating back to 1670. Lunch in a local restaurant in Bahla and panoramic photo stop at the fortified city (Unesco). Departure to Nizwa to visit suq and fort, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: THURSDAY: NIZWA / SINAW / WADI BANI KHALID / SHARQIYA SANDS

Breakfast and departure for Sinaw where we will visit the traditional Bedouin market on Thursday. You will be able to observe Bedouin women with the typical face mask. Sinaw is the only market where dromedaries are sold in a market. Continue to Wadi Bani Khalid to visit the splendid mountain oasis-wadi crossed by a perennial watercourse that creates lakes bordered by palm trees. Departure for Al Wasil. Lunch based on typical dishes. Continue to the Wahiba Sands desert until reaching the permanent camp. Accommodation. In the afternoon, unforgettable off-road excursion among the dunes and the sinuous and soft sandy formations that create extraordinary landscapes. You will reach the top of a dune to wait for the sunset which will offer spectacular colors and unforgettable images. Return to camp, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: FRIDAY: SHARQIYA SANDS / JALAN BANI BU ALI / WOODLAND / AL KHABBA / SUR

Breakfast and departure for Jalan Bani Bu Ali where we will visit the very interesting Fort, an example of an unrenovated fort dating back to 400 years ago and the Hamooda Mosque (external), with its characteristic architecture, known as the 52-domed Mosque. Continuation along a beautiful off-road itinerary to cross the “Woodland” desert, with white sands and inside there is a real forest of “Prosopis Cineraria”. We will reach the coast to continue north to Al Askhara. Lunch in a local restaurant. Departure for Sur with a stop in Al Khabba to observe the cliffs. Arrival, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: SATURDAY: SUR / GULF COAST OF OMAN / BIMAN SINKHOLE / WADI ARBEEN / MUSCAT

Breakfast and visit to Sur, an ancient trading center with Africa and India. Visit to the “dhow” factory, the typical Omani boats, where they are built entirely by hand and to the Ayjah area which is located on a beautiful bay from where you can admire a beautiful panorama of the natural lagoon where Sur was built and which houses the lighthouse. Departure along the coast of the Gulf of Oman until arriving at the Biman Sinkhole, a particular geological formation consisting of a deep crater generated by the collapse of the vault due to the interaction of the brackish water with the components of the rocks and at the bottom of which there is a sort of emerald colored lake. Departure for Wadi Arbeen, one of the most evocative wadis in Oman crossed by perennial water which gives life to waterfalls and lakes. Arrival in Muscat, hotel accommodation, free dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: SUNDAY: MUSCAT

Breakfast, check-out by 12.00 and final transfer to the airport.
