Trip Information
Day 1: SUNDAY: MUSCAT
Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 2: MONDAY: MUSCAT
Breakfast and departure for a visit to the city: The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, modern and elegant, famous for the beautiful Persian carpet and the incredible chandelier. Continue to Shatti al Qurum, the beautiful seafront of Muscat, until reaching the Opera House. Stop for the external visit (optional the internal if permitted based on the representations. Entrance to be paid on site). Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Bait al Zubair Museum of an ethnological nature, which will allow you to understand the habits, customs and traditions of Oman; of the Sultan’s Palace (external) and the Mirani and Jalali Forts (external). Finally stop at the famous Muttrah souq with myriad of shops. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: TUESDAY: MUSCAT / WADI BANI AWF / SNAKE GORGE / CROSS WEST HAJAR MOUNTAIN / JABRIN / NIZWA
Breakfast and departure TO WADI BANI AWF off road crossing of the western rock mountain, admiring extraordinary views of imposing mountain and wide valleys. Stop at the snake strait that winds between dizzying walls and at the village of Bilad sayt with the typical geometric crops. You will reach an altitude of 2000 m to cross mountain. Then Jebreen where you will visit castle which is the most beautiful in Oman. Visit old capital in Oman (fort and unique Nizwa suq), you can buy silvers, dates, rose water, spices etc.
Day 4: WEDNESDAY: MUSCAT / IBRA / WADI BANI KHALID / WAHIBA SANDS
Breakfast, meeting with the Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4 off-road vehicles and departure for Ibra. Arrival and visit to the traditional Wednesday Bedouin market known as the “women’s market”. Departure for Wadi Bani Khalid where we will visit the splendid mountain oasis-wadi with the palm-fringed lakes. Departure for Bidiya and lunch based on typical dishes. Continue to the Wahiba desert. Permanent camp placement. In the afternoon, an exciting excursion among the dunes, admiring their soft shapes shaped by the wind. The excursion will end on a dune waiting for the sunset with its spectacular colors. Return to camp, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: THURSDAY: WAHIBA SANDS / JALAN BANI BU ALI / WOODLAND / AL KHABBA / SUR
Breakfast and departure for Jalan Bani Bu Ali. Arrival and visit to the Al Hamooda Mosque (exterior) known as the 52-domed Mosque for its unique architecture. Then visit the Fort, not renovated, with its elegant buildings. Continuation along a beautiful off-road itinerary to visit the Woodland desert, with white sands and within which there is a real forest of Prosopis Cineraria. Arrival on the coast of the Arabian Sea and continuation northwards to Al Askhara. Fish-based lunch. Departure for Sur, with a stop in Al Khabba to observe the cliffs. Arrival, hotel accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: FRIDAY: SUR / TIWI / BIMAN SINKHOLE / WADI ARBEEN / MUSCAT
Breakfast and visit to Sur, once an important commercial center for trade particularly with Africa and India. Visit to the “dhow” factory, the typical Omani wooden boats still made by hand, and to the Ayjah area, the original settlement of the city with a splendid view of the lagoon, where the lighthouse is located. Departure along the beautiful coast of the Gulf of Oman and walk with beautiful landscape in wadi tiwi, with a stop, weather permitting, on a beach for a walk or a swim. Arrival at the Biman Sinkhole, a singular geological formation created by sinking. Picnic lunch. Departure for Muscat, deviating inland along a fascinating off-road itinerary that runs through Wadi Arbeen, ancient river bed between rocky walls. Arrival, hotel accommodation, free dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: SATURDAY: MUSCAT
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for the return flight.
