Trip Information

Day 1: MUSCAT

Arrival in Muscat, meeting with our English-speaking assistant, after completing customs formalities and collecting your luggage, transfer to the Royal Tulip Hotel. Accommodation in reserved rooms. Free dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: MUSCAT CITY TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with the English-speaking guide. Whole day dedicated to visiting the city of Muscat, the beautiful capital of the Sultanate starting from the Great Mosque of Muscat, a splendid example of modern Arab architecture. Photo stop at the Opera house. Possibility of visit if rehearsals of the performances are not in progress. Free lunch. Visit to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a private house now used as a museum where you can see typical Omani clothes, costumes, tools, weapons and jewellery. Continue to the Alam Palace, the Sultan’s representative palace with typical architecture from the late 70s, photo stop. You will reach the Portuguese era forts Jalali and Mirani located at the entrance to the ancient port to protect the ancient city of Muscat. Continue to the Muttrah souq where it will be possible to take a walk and do some shopping. Return to the hotel. Free dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: MUSCAT / WADI ARBEEN / BIMAN SINKHOLE / WADI TIWI / SUR

Breakfast, departure by off-road vehicle towards the south. Leaving the highway that connects Muscat to Sur, we go inland and with an off-road route we continue towards Wadi Arbeen, one of the most beautiful and wild oases of the Sultanate, crossing the Hajar mountains with multicolored rocks, beige roses and black. After one of the most beautiful nature trails in the Sultanate, you arrive at Bimah Sinkhole, a characteristic geological formation where the fresh waters of the Wadi and the salty waters of the sea meet. Free lunch. Continue towards Tiwi, walk through the Wadi full of date palms and fruit trees. Visit to Sur, a pretty town famous for its shipyards where Dhows, the typical Omani boat, are still built using traditional methods. Visit to the Ras Ayqah area with the lighthouse and the fishermen’s houses with the particular carved doors of the houses, a legacy of contacts with Africa. Dinner and overnight stay at Sur Plaza: optional excursion to turtle beach to be booked and paid for at the hotel.

Day 4: SUR / WADI BANI KHALID / SHARQIYA SAND DESERT

Breakfast, departure for Wadi Bani Khalid, visit to this spectacular oasis, one of the most beautiful and famous in Oman. Free lunch. Continue to the Wahiba Sand desert with its pink dunes. Accommodation at the Desert Night Camp Luxe room. In the afternoon, an exciting excursion into the desert, entering the dunes, at the end of the dune bashing, waiting for the sunset and returning to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: SHARQIYA SAND DESERT / JABREEN / BAHLA / AL HAMRA / NIZWA

Breakfast, departure for Jabreen visit the fortified castle built in 1671, one of the most beautiful and refined in Oman. Arrival in Bahla, a historic city once surrounded by 12 kilometers of mighty walls, where the imposing fort is located, placed under the protection of UNESCO as a world heritage site. We will stop in a panoramic position to take in the whole of this characteristic fortified town. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit the village of al Hamra. Arrival in Nizwa, visit the date souk. Al Diyar Accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: NIZWA / JABAL AKDAR / BIRKAT AL MOUZ / MUSCAT

Breakfast, visit to Nizwa with the characteristic circular fort, the castle and the museum. We will then move on to visit the characteristic souks with craft and spice shops, dates, fruit and vegetables; here you can also buy rose water. We will then climb to Jabal Akdar called the “green mountain” for the beauty of the landscape and its canyons. Here from March to April it will be possible to witness the flowering of the damask roses on the terraces created from the slopes of the mountain. Free lunch. Afternoon visit to Birkat Al Mouz village surrounded by lush palm groves. In Birkat Al Mouz there is the Falaj under the protection of UNESCO. Return to Muscat.
